Advanced
Education Programs - HOUSING
UTHSCSA has no housing on campus. However, the medical center
area is surrounded by modern apartment complexes Rental housing
is
available as the medical center is located in a suburban area. Two
cafeterias on campus serve students and staff, and restaurants and
fast-food outlets offer a variety of options. The metropolitan transit
system connects the medical center/UTHSCSA area with the rest of
the
city.
On the average, apartments near the University are leasing at approximately
$380 for an efficiency; $450 for 1 BD/1 B; $600 for 2 BD/1 B; $675
for 2BD/2B. The rent, of course, depends upon amenities offered. Complexes
which pay all utilities generally rent higher. Most require 6-12 month
leases and security deposits beginning at $100. Furniture rental companies
in the area charge moderately. |
