Dr. Kotsakis appointed to board of IADR Implantology Research Group
September 14, 2020
The International Association for Dental Research’s (IADR) Implantology Research Group (IRG) has appointed Georgios A. Kotsakis, DDS, MS, associate professor in the department of periodontics, to the position of vice-president of the executive board.
The IRG is made of a diverse, multidisciplinary assembly which brings experts such as material scientists, prosthodontists, periodontists, oral surgeons, and other basic science researchers together in their mutual interest of biomedical implants.
By hosting seminars and symposia, the Group offers a forum for educators, scientists, and clinicians from across the globe to review and assess the latest advances in laboratory studies and clinical research. Topics include materials and design of dental implants, placement techniques, and methods for long term success.
As part of his responsibility on the executive board of the IRG, Dr. Kotsakis will have a role in organizing programs for the annual American Association for Dental Research’s (AADR) and IADR meetings. The Board also supports innovative investigators through multiple disciplinary and interdisciplinary research awards.
“During my tenure on the executive board, I will be very excited to engage more of our faculty to actively participate in the IRG and in the IADR, to disseminate the terrific research that is taking place at our institution, and to extend our expertise to help advance implant research nationally and internationally,” Dr. Kotsakis declares.
Congratulations to Dr. Kotsakis for this new appointment.
